Napoleon Buonaparte Essays - House Of Bonaparte, European People

Napoleon Buonaparte Napoleon Buonaparte was a military genius who, at the age of sixteen, gained the rank of lieutenant in the French Army. He overcame all of the criticism he received in the army became a great leader. Napoleon, perhaps, was one of the most prominent, and powerful leaders of all time. Napoleon's childhood was a very troublesome one. He was always getting into trouble. When he was a little boy, ?He was always hitting people and biting them? (Komroff 15). Since Napoleon was always causing problems, he was sent to a girl school by his mother hoping that this experience would change his attitude (Komroff 15). This however, did not work, so he was sent to a Jesuit school with his eldest brother, Joseph (Komroff 15). While Napoleon was in the Jesuit school, he was an excellent student. Several years later when he was sent to military school at the age of fifteen, he was still an outstanding student and ?Remembered everything he was told? (Komroff 17). At the age of fifteen, Napoleon was already ?Showing great prominence as a military leader? and when he turned sixteen ?He graduated with honors and was appointed the rank of lieutenant? at his military school (Komroff 20). Napoleon had a big family. There were ten people in his family and seven of them were brothers and sisters (Ludwig 7). Life was very hard for Napoleon and his family, simply because there were so many mouths to feed and not enough money (Ludwig 7). Therefore, life was very harsh for young Napoleon. He was always being ?Mocked and teased because of his poverty? (Ludwig 7). Just after Napoleon graduated second lieutenant in the regiment of La Fe're, his father got really sick with cancer and was taken to the medical center Montpellier where his father was treated for ?Any last hope in life? (Guerard 9). But the efforts were not enough. Carlo Buonaparte died on February 24, 1785 (Guerard 9). During this crucial time, Napoleon's family was going through various changes. His eldest brother Joseph was leaving the church for the army, and his other brother Lucien, was leaving the military to join the seminary at Aix (Guerard 9). The only person who seemed to be making any wise decisions, was his sister Eliza. Eliza had been accepted at Saint Cyr, a school which had been created for the daughters of the impoverished aristocracy (Guerard 9). At this school, Eliza would not only receive a great education, but she would also receive three thousand francs, and a trosseau (Guerard 9). The rest of Napoleon's family were the youngest, Louise, Pauline, Caroline, and Jerome. They were left under the care of his widowed mother (Guerard 9). But Napoleon would not leave his family in their present condition. He ignored the fact that his eldest brother had the right to take over the family, and he ?Appointed himself head of the family? shortly after the demise of his father (Guerard 9). Napoleon's military career basically started when he was only sixteen. When he was sixteen, he ?Graduated military school with the rank of lieutenant? (Komroff 20). Napoleon achieved this feat after only being in the military school for one year (Komroff 20). Napoleon gained his chance in the spotlight when the French Revolution began. On July 14, 1789 when the Bastille was stormed, Napoleon was sent to various parts of France to help calm down the riots (Komroff 20). This happened only three years after Napoleon's graduation, he was nineteen. By the time Napoleon was 26, he was ?Already Commander in Chief of the Army of the Interior and was known world wide? (Komroff 25). Throughout his career and life, Napoleon encountered many women, but none compared to his first love, Josephine. Josephine Tascher de la Pagerie was ?A lazy, cold-hearted, empty-headed person?, but she was also very kind (Guerard 23). Her kindness was what attracted Napoleon. They were both married on March 9, 1796, only by the civil court, the did not have a religious ceremony (Guerard 23). When they got married, ?Napoleon was 27 and Josephine was 33 years old?, even though she lied and said she was 29 (Guerard 23). On May 18, 1804, Napoleon ?Was proclaimed the

Waves in physics Essay Example

Waves in physics Essay Example Waves in physics Essay Waves in physics Essay Application of different type of waves in medicine Assessment type(s): MAP Criteria: A: One world, B: Communication in science Word count: 1000+ Explain the use of different waves in medicine. Your essay should: -explains how different type of waves are used to diagnose / cure different diseases. -discusses the effectiveness of science and its application in solving the problem or issue. -discusses and evaluates the implications of the use and application of science interacting with at least two of the following factors: moral, ethical, social, economic, political, cultural and environmental. You should also: -use sufficient scientific language correctly. -communicate scientific information effectively. -fully documents sources of information correctly, appropriate to the task The application of waves in medicine: Shock wave: Shock wave is one of the wave which is used in medicines. This wave was introduced 20 years ago. This application changed the treatment of Urologists. The formation of stony concretions in the bladder or urinary tract. Shock waves can treat kidney and urethral stones. Shock waves have also been used to treat fractures. The concept of orthopedic is that the shock wave reactivates healing, surrounding tissue and bones, by micro disruption which means disorder of vascular tissues to grow on local bases. It basically helps in healing and recovering tissues. Radio wave: We have learned about the understanding of radio waves by the experiments of Hertz. Radio waves are used to transfer the pattern of a patients heartbeat by a monitor to a patients home or to a nearby hospital. They are also used to convey the condition of a patient from an ambulance to a hospital so that they are ready for the tangents emergency. Radio waves are used in medicine when paramedics who is a person trained to do medical work are connected to the scene where they are to do for the upcoming patient. Electromagnetic wave: Electromagnetic waves are produced by the motion of electrically charged particles. These waves are also called electromagnetic radiation because they radiate from the electrically charged particles. They travel through empty space as well as through air and other substances. Electromagnetic waves at low frequencies are referred to as electromagnetic fields and those at very high frequencies are called electromagnetic radiations. Electromagnetic wave plays a big major role in daily life. Electromagnetic waves are used in communications, radio and television broadcasting, cellular networks and indoor wireless systems. From the results of innovations, the use of this field is very high as people prefer more of new technologies now a day. The increasing number of mobile phones users rise significant concerns due to its potential damage on people exposed by radionuclide waves. Since mobile phones are used in positions very close to the human body and require a large number of base station antennas, the public and the scientists have doubts on its damages on human body. Ultra sound: In sound waves, waves are send into bodies and are reflected back at the interface between tissues. The time taken by the waves to reflect and return tells the depth of the reflected area. The research for sound wave went across human life and had affected since the world war 2 when the research was being done during the war of sound negotiation and ranging. In sasss for gray scale images, in 1965 for real time imaging. And today used in medical imaging. Sound waves have two types of waves, specula which means reflection from large surface and scattered which means reflection from small surface. Ultra sound waves are used as medicines as it captures the internal organs and structures . Ultra sonic waves: The application of ultrasonic wave in medicine is that it used n x-rays and magnetic imaging. Among the various modern techniques for the imaging of internal organs, ultrasonic machines like x ray are very expensive including its treatment. Ultrasound is also used for treating Joint pains and for treating certain types of tumors for which the mentioned problems are heated. A very effective use of ultrasound deriving from its nature as a mechanical vibration is the elimination of kidney and bladder. One of the important advantages of ultrasound is that it is a mechanical vibration. It can also be used in places where x-ray is damaging. Ultrasound, on the other hand, gives good contrast between various types of soft tissue. All the included waves have advantages and are helpful in humans daily life. Some waves are also lawful in places where other medical machines are dangerous like ultrasonic waves instead of x-rays. Application of these waves also helps in economic development as more and more patients will do their surgery through these waves in medicine. Bibliography: Medical Physics Ultrasound. (n. D. ). Discuss how my life experiences have impacted me to go into the field Essay

Discuss how my life experiences have impacted me to go into the field of education - Essay Example My love of children has no bound. I like to watch, take care of, and be around children. They constantly amaze me. Children are like unfilled glasses. I want to be able to fill these glasses. To fill children with good things like knowledge, trust, and confidence should be the goal of every adult, especially teachers. These children are the future. I want my future to hold successful governments, new breakthroughs in medicine, and maybe even peace. Good role models is the only way to better the future, teachers are on the front line in that battle. Teachers are second only to parents when shaping a child’s life. Teaching children is not a job or career, for me it is personal fulfilment. To watch a child’s face as they learn something new makes me feel good. When a teacher teaches a child, they are giving the child skills they will use for the rest of their lives. When I was a child, I looked up and admired my teachers. One of my favourite game was school. Most of the time, I was the teacher to a playground of students. My personal teachers have inspired me. I am the person I am today due to good teachers. I want to become a teacher and give back to society what I received as a child. My background and personal skills also give me advantage in the field of education. I am in my forties. My age gives me the advantage over other applicants, due to my patience. Since I am mature, I am more determined to complete my education. Since I also have lived a full life this makes me more prepared than your average student. I am more than capable to juggle school and my personal life. I am less likely to drop out or have as many absences that younger students. If accepted to this university, I will complete the program. My maturity will positively affect my studies. My Latin background is also an advantage. My grandmother was a teacher in Cuba. My parents have always stressed the importance of living here, my
